Daniel Bachmann was the man to blame for Watford supporters on Tuesday night as Leeds United secured all three points with a narrow 2-1 win at Elland Road.
A sixth Championship win of the season propelled Daniel Farke’s side to second position in the table. Leeds returned to third place on Wednesday, level on points with Scott Parker’s Burnley.
Leeds won thanks to goals from Largie Ramazani and Brenden Aaronson, although they had to cling on at times in the second half after Kwadwo Baah cut the margin in half.
Leeds had several scoring opportunities, but the game ended 2-1, owing largely to mistakes by Watford goalkeeper Bachmann. Tom Cleverley praised Leeds, stating they know how to win even when they’re not playing their best.

Bachmann was brave enough to talk on Watford’s website after the game, apologising to fans for his involvement in both Leeds goals. However, the goalkeeper made a weird allegation regarding Leeds fans.
He stated that during the game, he heard more Watford support than Elland Road fans. Given that Watford brought less than 500 fans to Elland Road on Tuesday night, this would be an outstanding achievement.
Bachmann stated: “At times, we heard them more than Leeds, which says a lot in this stadium. I can only thank them and apologize. I hope our reaction as a team made them proud.
Bachmann also felt Watford deserved a point against Leeds
According to the statistics, Leeds dominated the encounter in terms of opportunities, while Watford did put some pressure on Leeds in the second half. Bachmann definitely forgot how many chances Leeds had.

Despite his two errors and Mateo Joseph and Joel Piroe’s missed second-half chances, Bachmann told Watford’s website that Cleverley’s Hornets deserved a point at Elland Road.
“I don’t think many teams will come here and play like we did tonight. We deserved at least a point based on how we played in the second half.
