Aston Villa providing ‘very rich competition’ for signing – Club expecting January bid at some point

Aston Villa providing ‘very rich competition’ for signing – Club expecting January bid at some point.

Cyril Ngonge, a 23-year-old winger for Hellas Verona, is a target for Fiorentina, but Aston Villa is giving them competition. The Italian team feels they must win if they hope to acquire the player.

Fiorentina

That’s according to Corriere Fiorentino, who discusses Fiorentina’s transfer plans today and how they might face off against Aston Villa this month.

According to the newspaper, Verona’s present financial woes may force them to sell off their young, promising players. With Isak Hien’s departure to Atalanta, Ngonge might be the next to go.

Fiorentina has been tracking him since the summer of last year and is now debating whether to pursue him once more. However, in order to succeed in their pursuit of him, they would need to defeat Aston Villa, a “very rich competition.”

The latter’s interest is also not new; at the end of last month, a report from Tuttomercato online stated that Verona was anticipating a proposal from an English side at some time soon, and they were added to the mix.

They explain that Aston Villa would be an attractive option for the youngster and, furthermore, they could easily afford the €10-15m valuation that Verona have put on the player.

This is now slightly supported by Corriere Fiorentino, who asserts that Fiorentina will need to surpass Aston Villa in some way if they are to acquire Ngonge, who is a very real possibility.

Since it isn’t going to happen financially, it appears the Italians could need a different strategy to prevail in the anticipated conflict.
