Celtic have a lot of players in their team who are truly outstanding footballers.
Brendan Rodgers led Celtic to a six-point lead over Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership after Callum McGregor’s superb performance against Ross County.
Nicolas Kuhn has been a standout for Celtic, scoring goals and assisting in both domestic and Champions League competitions.
And that’s not to mention Alistair Johnston, Paulo Bernardo, or Daizen Maeda. However, even with all of the world’s skill, Celtic players are susceptible to bad form.
The BBC Radio Scotland panel discussed Brendan Rodgers’ announcement that Celtic will meet Ross County yesterday.
Billy Dodds tells Arne Engels ‘You’re going to be amazing, son’ at Celtic
Kenny McIntyre, a BBC presenter, said that Arne Engels is a ‘target of the boo boys’ after being benched by Celtic for the visit of Ross County.
However, commentator Billy Dodds holds a different perspective.
Dodds told BBC Radio Scotland, “There are another five taken out with him so you can blend in.” That, I believe, is a significant development.
“I don’t believe it’s quite time for the boo-boys yet, is it? It is not that. Some individuals believe he is not performing to his full potential.
“When he made his debut here, I thought, ‘You’re going to be something special, son.'” I still believe he will. His mobility, quickness, and power for a 21-year-old are unbelievable.”
Billy Dodds reveals ‘the truth’ regarding Arne Engels’ performance at Celtic
Dodds expands on his premise, identifying exactly why Engels is suffering at Celtic right now.
“But I think it is only speaking the truth,” concluded Dodds, “that he is a young guy who needs a little relaxation.
“He came to a big club. It takes a lot to take it all in psychologically while still having the mental power and strength to get through it and understand you’re at a large club and performing week after week.
“So it’s not a horrible game for him to be pulled off; he’s not playing his best. He’s struggling a little bit, but I’m confident Arne Engels will return because he’s a unique talent, and his height, presence, pace, and power, which I’ve seen so many times, will return.
