NFL Insiders Believe Dennis Allen Will Return As Saints Coach

It appears like Dennis Allen will continue for a third season as the Saints’ head coach unless something very different occurs.

Depending on how Sunday’s NFC South game against the Bucs plays out, the Saints will either maintain their narrow postseason prospects heading into the final regular season game or have it all end. Dennis Allen’s future is a topic of much conjecture this time of year, but according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, there shouldn’t be many concerns about it.

According to their Sunday morning report, general manager Mickey Loomis and owner Gayle Benson have shown Allen a lot of support as he deals with injuries at different positions, an offensive line/front seven rotation, and an Alvin Kamara suspension.

As stated by Pelissero and Rapoport, “New Orleans might be changing, though. After 2023, the offensive side of the ball will undergo a comprehensive examination.

However, Allen and the Saints will make those decisions in the upcoming months, and right now, it looks like he’ll receive a third season.”

From everything Saints News Network has gathered regarding this situation and reported just nine days ago, it does feel like

Allen will get another crack at things with New Orleans going into 2024. If the team can’t beat both Tampa and Atlanta to close

out the year, then it will absolutely raise some questions. It would be the third straight year being absent from the postseason for the Saints.

The Saints will need to use many of their current players and get under the cap once more for the upcoming campaign.

While some of the later selections and undrafted rookies have performed admirably, some of the draft picks haven’t lived up to

expectations. There aren’t many reasons to visit New Orleans until they’re done with it this season, but they have a lot of questions to answer this offseason. But that may easily change.
