Mike Tomlin drops blunt reaction to Jets’ Davante Adams trade

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has reacted to the trade that would bring wide receiver Davante Adams to New York. Adams is leaving the Las Vegas Raiders for the Big Apple, and Tomlin is adding humor to the situation.

“I was preparing for Davante Adams last week. “I’m getting ready for Davante Adams this week,” Tomlin told ESPN.

The Steelers prepared for the Raiders and defeated them, with Adams on the squad, but inactive. Pittsburgh must now prepare for Sunday night’s game against the Jets, and Adams is once again on the roster.

Tomlin obviously hopes the ultimate results on Sunday are just as good for his side. The Steelers defeated Las Vegas 32-13, moving to 4-2 on the season. New York is moving in the opposite direction, with a 2-4 record and three consecutive losses.

Despite numerous important player injuries, the Steelers have had a reasonably good season. Russell Wilson is one of those players, and he was anticipated to start at quarterback this season.

Justin Fields is filling in for Wilson due to his injury. While Fields has performed admirably, the squad has struggled with their scoring attack. Tomlin is now in a difficult situation because the head coach must determine who will start the Jets game. There looks to be some intrigue about who will start, and Steelers supporters may have to wonder for a few days.

This season, the Steelers’ defense has been particularly strong. It will have to continue to face the Jets. The arrival of Adams will most likely boost New York’s passing game. This year, the wide receiver has 18 receptions for 209 yards and one touchdown. His greatest effort came against the Baltimore Ravens, when he accumulated 110 yards on nine receptions.

Adams may not be able to play against the Jets due to a hamstring ailment. Due to the ailment, he did not make a single reception in the team’s loss against Pittsburgh.

It appears like Tomlin will have to continue to lose sleep while dealing with Adams. Sunday night’s game between the Steelers and the Jets kicks off at 8:20 Eastern.
