3 out-of-contract players Wrexham look unlikely to keep beyond 2025

Wrexham have adapted well to life in League One following their promotion from League Two last season.

Wrexham finished second in the fourth tier, behind Stockport County, and were promoted alongside Mansfield Town and Crawley Town.
The Red Dragons are second in the table, behind Birmingham City, and won 4-1 at home against Northampton Town in their final league game before the international break.

They return to play this weekend, travelling away to Rotherham United. In the meanwhile, here is a look at three players who are unlikely to stay at the Racecourse Ground after their contracts expire in 2025…

Anthony Forde

The 30-year-old’s playing time at Wrexham has dwindled in recent years, and it would be surprising if he remained with the club next season. He has made only two appearances this season, both in cup competitions.

Although he adds competition and depth to their attacking department, his chances of consistent playing time are minimal due to the number of other players in his position. Therefore, breaking connections with him would most likely serve all parties concerned.

Mark Howard

He is 35 years old and nearing the end of his career. He serves as a backup for Arthur Okonkwo and Callum Burton.
Howard is a handy individual to have in and around the locker room. When his contract expires, the Red Dragons will face a major decision regarding what to do with him.

Josh Adam

Wrexham signed him this summer when he left Manchester City. He only signed a one-year contract with the Welsh club, though.

Time will tell whether they continue to hold him or let him go. According to BBC Sport, Phil Parkinson stated after signing him: “He’s a talented young player, and we look forward to working with him.”

Adam added: “I’d describe myself as a really technical player who enjoys getting on the ball and making things happen. I’ve had some of the best coaches and teammates at the academy level; they’ve helped me grow a lot and challenged me, and now the next step is to play in the men’s game.
