Melbourne Victory signs Brazilian forward Santos

Melbourne Victory is delighted to announce the signing of forward Clarismario Santos Rodrigues for the 2024/25 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

The 23-year-old, also known as Santos, has signed a one-year contract with the Club till the end of the 2024/25 A-League Men’s season from Cypriot First Division side AEK Larnaca.

The winger graduated from the Fluminense Academy and began his professional career in Croatia before spending three seasons with Bosnian Premier League side Zeljeznicar.

According to Melbourne Victory Head Coach Patrick Kisnorbo, Santos is a bright talent who is eager to make an impression at the club.

“We’re excited to welcome Santos to Melbourne Victory for the upcoming season,” the coach remarked. “He’s a winger who can play on both sides of the pitch and will provide healthy competition with his explosive pace and work ethic.

“He’s at an age where we believe he is poised to hit his prime at Melbourne Victory but most of all, Santos is a team player with a willingness to learn, so we believe we can get the best out of him.”

Santos was also looking forward to joining the Melbourne Victory. “This is an exciting new challenge for me and I cannot wait to get started,” Santos told the crowd.

“The Club has built an environment that I believe can get the best from me as a footballer and I want to deliver on the pitch for the team and for the fans this season.”

Santos joins Nikos Vergos, Josh Rawlins, Jing Reec, Reno Piscopo, Jack Duncan, Brendan Hamill, and Mitch Langerak as the Club’s most recent additions for the 2024/25 A-League Men’s season, with his availability for Round 1 subject to international clearance ahead of the team’s season opener against the Central Coast Mariners on Friday, October 18.
