After much reported interest in the goalkeeper, it appeared that Leeds would have to pay a premium to sign Darlow. According to Keith Downie, Leeds agreed to sign him for a cost of £400,000 from St James’ Park. Darlow’s contract at Elland Road includes a weekly salary of £30,000, as per Capology.
That wage would pay him £1,560,000 each year, which he will receive for three years until his contract expires in 2026. Leeds fans are currently debating what will happen to the top spot after Meslier’s terrible error allowed Sunderland a late equaliser, resulting in a two-point loss. According to Football Insider, the French goalkeeper will continue as the starting for next week’s match against Sheffield United. Darlow, who has only appeared once this season in the EFL Cup against Middlesbrough, is left waiting for his time.
