Arsenal and Man City warned off as manager says ‘I don’t want to sell’ £22m wonderkid

With Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Arsenal among those sniffing around, the January transfer window is certainly not something the striker’s head coach is looking forward to.

The agency of one of Europe’s most promising offensive prospects has already stated that Arsenal and Manchester City are interested in the Besiktas wonderkid.
Semih Kilicsoy, according to HITC, has earned a spot on Nottingham Forest’s radar with Galatasaray forward and fellow Turkish international Baris Alper Yilmaz.

And then there’s Aston Villa.

While the veracity of Villa’s interest is uncertain at this point, former Besiktas chief Sinan Engin claims to have been informed that Unai Emery’s Bayern Munich rivals made a £12.6 million bid in the last window.

But, as far as Besiktas coach Giovanni van Bronckhorst is concerned, the message to Kilicsoy’s expanding list of suitors is straightforward: stay away.

Besiktas coach warns Arsenal and Manchester City off Semih Kilicsoy

“I don’t want to sell Semih Kilicsoy!” Van Bronckhorst addresses the media. “Good bids may arrive during the winter break, but I’m not looking to sell him.

“Things are going well right now, and large organizations want to sign these players. One day, the best time for both the club and the player will arrive, and he will be sold.

“[But] I hope he will serve us for many years.”
Kilicsoy is reputedly worth around £22 million.

During his breakthrough season in 2023/24, the teenager scored 11 goals in 20 Super Lig appearances. Kilicsoy, on the other hand, has struggled to find form this season after 11 appearances.

And Van Bronckhorst is eager to get his teenage prodigy back on the scoring trail.

“I have a good relationship with Semih Kilicsoy,” the former Arsenal, Barcelona, and Netherlands defender explains. “He’s a rising star and an extremely talented player. Last year, he accomplished his aims admirably.

“I aim to get every player to a good level. Semih will become a better player. He will improve as a player this year. I’m attempting to develop him.

“Semih knows all about this. “He will be an excellent player for Besiktas.”

In addition to Arsenal and Manchester City, whose legendary striker Sergio Aguero Kilicsoy admires, the Turkish teen’s agent confirmed that Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, and Stuttgart are also interested.

“I don’t know if Besiktas has received an offer,” Murat Teber told Sporx at the end of last season. “I know clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco, Bayer Leverkusen, and Stuttgart are keeping an eye on Semih.”

“We have got information regarding this. However, it has not reached the offer stage.

Kilicsoy appears to be planning to stay in Turkey until at least next summer.

Arda Turan, a former Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray playmaker, believes Kilicsoy will soon follow in the footsteps of Aguero and fellow emerging player Arda Guler, who is now at Real Madrid.

“I feel proud as I watch Semih Kilicsoy,” Turan told TRT Spor a few months ago. “He, too, will achieve great success, like Arda Guler has.

“He will first make a great contribution to Besiktas and then become a world star.”
