Brighton with two proposals to sign same player – Seagulls offered to hike salary

Brighton with two proposals to sign same player – Seagulls offered to hike salary.

David Mella of Deportivo La Coruna was linked to Brighton during the summer transfer window.

The winger’s attempted transfer to another team was never completed, but in his eight league games thus far, he has already demonstrated his abilities in La Liga2. He has scored twice and assisted twice.

His emergence in the Deportivo first squad during his second full season is evidence that the Seagulls have once again completed their transfer homework.

La Voz de Galicia report Brighton made two offers to both Mella and Deportivo. They put forward the possibility of increasing his wages by a good margin, but he wasn’t tempted enough.

Mella has previously rejected offers from Real Madrid, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, and Atletico Madrid to raise his salary. This is not the first time that he has done so.

The player turned down the Seagulls’ offer as well, and he is currently inches away from agreeing to a new contract with Deportivo.

In this regard, multiple talks have taken place, and it appears that Brighton’s hopes of persuading Mella in one of the next two windows are dimmed.

The extent of the buyout provision in any new contract may determine a number of things.
