Stars sold by Rangers and Celtic this summer hit goal trail as they both score in Birmingham City rout.

Birmingham City scored last night, with former Rangers and Celtics players among their scoring.

Two new additions to Birmingham City during the summer transfer window, Scott Wright and Tomoki Itawa, lost to Charlton Athletic

1-0 at The Valley in League One on Saturday, marking a rare defeat for the team.

But on Tuesday night, the Blues dominated Shrewsbury Town 4-0 at the New Meadow in the EFL Trophy, demonstrating the former

Rangers and Celtics players’ remarkable comeback. Wright scored twice and provided an assist, while Itawa scored Birmingham’s
second goal of the game. Both players’ names were recorded on the scoreboard.

Wright and Itawa paid undisclosed transfer fees to join Birmingham in the summer. Wright has made seven appearances for the Blues

this season, recording three goals and one assist, while Itawa has made six appearances in all competitions, recording three goals and

one assist.

Wright stated: “[I] thought it was great” in an interview that was posted on Birmingham’s official YouTube page. As a team, I believe it

was critical that we move past the setback from the previous weekend, and I believe we succeeded in doing so today. We wanted to

make some amends, and we did so with a really strong team performance.e that.

“We left the block quickly. We’ve made it clear that we’ve struggled to get going in the first few games, so we needed to get off to a fast

start. We were quite ruthless and we took our chances brilliantly.

Wright made 76 Scottish Premiership games for the Light Blues during his three years at Rangers, scoring seven goals; Itawa made 32

league appearances for Celtic, scoring one goal. Wright has previously played for Dundee and Aberdeen; Itawa, on the other side, has

previously made appearances forYokohama F. Marinos and Oita Trinita.
