Ebbsfleet United won the Kent Senior Cup tie on Tuesday night after cancelling out Gillingham’s early opener.
Ebbsfleet’s former Gillingham player Greg Cundle equalised after Alex Giles took the lead. Jephte Tanga, a half-time substitution, scored twice in the second half for the home team to complete the reversal.
Both teams have got byes to the second round of the county championship.
Fleet finished second in the 2023/24 season, having reached the final but losing 4-0 to Maidstone United at Hayes Lane.
