Following a poor start to the season, Celtic’s Champions League opponents decide to fire the manager.

After a terrible start to the season, Young Boys, Celtic’s UEFA Champions League adversaries, have opted to fire their manager.

Even though they are in the UCL, the Swiss team is now bottom of their league, therefore when they come to Celtic Park in January, they will have a new manager in charge.

After an appalling beginning to his term, Patrick Rahman has been stripped of his responsibilities. Though the 55-year-old was only appointed in May, he was fired. In an attempt to establish himself as a potential candidate for the position, Joel Magnin has been appointed as the acting manager. Magnin assumed leadership at the close of the previous campaign, propelling the Berne team to victory.

“We came to the conclusion that a change is needed after extensive discussions and analyses,” stated Christoph Spycher, YB’s sporting director.

“After nine rounds, we are at the bottom of the table, which is really disappointing.”

Magnin will now try to address Young Boys’ concerning start to the season and implement a shift in form. The upside of this is that the Swiss side could be more willing to give up on their aspirations to get to Europe.

Celtic’s UCL rivals have fired their manager for the second time. Sergei Jankovic was fired by Dinamo Zagreb last month following their Champions League opening-round 9-2 loss to Bayern Munich. Following a stint as Union Berlin’s leader, Nenad Bjelica is once again in command.
