Callum Paterson could leave Sheffield Wednesday in January
This season, Danny Rohl has only allowed Paterson to play in one Championship game, which was the 2-1 victory over Coventry City in which Paterson played the last few minutes.
Paterson had attention during the summer transfer window but stayed in S6.
Pierce Charles
Pierce Charles, the custodian for Northern Ireland, has only been in the Carabao Cup this year.
Similar to Paterson, Charles expressed interest in transferring during the summer but was retained at Wednesday because to Ben Hamer’s injury.
Michael O’Neill, the manager of Northern Ireland, is pressuring Charles to finalise a loan move, and with Hamer now on the mend, January would be a suitable time to send Charles out on loan.
Pol Valentin
Spanish right-back Pol Valentin is a huge fan favourite at Sheffield Wednesday. But he faces an uncertain future.
Now back-up to Yan Valery, Valentin has been linked with Maccabi Tel Aviv ahead of his contract expiry at the end of this season.
If Wednesday can’t agree a deal with Valentin then it might make sense to cash in on him in January.
Charlie McNeill
Fans are baffled to summer signing Charlie McNeill has been exiled by Rohl thus far.
The 21-year-old scored twice in his Carabao Cup debut match against Hull City, but he hasn’t played in the league at all since.
Given that McNeill has only been included in two Championship matchday squads thus far, a loan departure in January might be the best course of action for both the team and him.
Sean Fusire
The best option for academy midfielder Sean Fusire, who was benched against Coventry City last time out, might also be to leave on loan.
Although Fusire has shown promise in the Carabao Cup this season, the Owls have not yet used him in a championship game.
If Rohl and the club can identify a good loan club for the 19-year-old, then it would be a terrific chance for him to develop ahead of next season.
