Eintracht Frankfurt are eager to use their option to recruit Rasmus Kristensen on a permanent basis from Leeds United.
Florian Plettenberg estimates the permanent clause to be worth €10-12 million.
Kristensen’s future was uncertain after his loan spell with AS Roma last season.
It would not have surprised fans if he moved on again, especially after spending the 2023/24 season away from Elland Road.
Leeds lacked a right-back option after Archie Grey left for Tottenham Hotspur.
Not only that, but Luke Ayling and Cody Drameh left the West Yorkshire side after their contracts expired.
Connor Roberts returned to Burnley after his loan with Daniel Farke, highlighting the need for improvement in this area during the summer transfer window.
Fortunately for the Whites, they were able to conclude agreements to bring Jayden Bogle and Isaac Schmidt to Elland Road during the previous window, giving them options in this area.
And this might allow Leeds to sell Kristensen permanently without having to worry about their right-back depth, with Sam Byram also available as an alternative when he is not needed on the left side.

The Bundesliga club has signed the full-back on a season-long loan agreement, allowing them to fully examine him before deciding whether to sign him permanently.
Club officials are already impressed with him, and the German club has the opportunity to trigger the permanent option in his loan deal at any time, indicating a potential long-term signing.

The permanent option is estimated to be worth €10-12 million, potentially resulting in an eight-figure payout for the Whites if Frankfurt activates the provision.
Kristensen’s contract at Elland Road runs until 2027, although his time in West Yorkshire could end soon.
Rasmus Kristensen’s departure could provide Leeds United boost
Farke hasn’t had much time to work with Kristensen in recent years, so his permanent exit would have little impact on Leeds’ head coach.
However, it may help the Whites to raise additional finances, which can only be a good thing for the West Yorkshire club, who will need a decent budget for January.
It may be argued that the most of their work was completed in January, but it wouldn’t hurt to sign some more players if they can bring value to the team.
The midfield is especially problematic at this point, with Ethan Ampadu and Ilia Gruev both out for the foreseeable future.
And the proceeds from this transaction might be used to entice an exciting free agent to Elland Road if they locate a good candidate.
