JUST IN: Pat Bonner believes that excellent Celtic players are now in a’very strong position’ under Brendan Rodgers.

Celtic waited until the last whistle to gain a much-needed victory over Ross County in the Scottish Premiership after a difficult week. Celtic were on the verge of losing top spot in the Highlands due to Aberdeen’s victory over Hearts in the afternoon kick-off. However, Nicolas Kuhn’s dramatic strike three minutes from time sealed the win over Ross County, sending the away fans into raptures.

Alistair Johnston equalized with under 15 minutes to go, but Kuhn stole the show with his dazzling run and finish, bringing his tally to five goals and eight assists in ten appearances this season. Pat Bonner has highlighted why the 24-year-old German winger deserves all the praise he is receiving for recent performances.

Nicolas Kuhn’s ‘very good’ Celtic position under Brendan Rodgers

Bonner, speaking on BBC Sportsound, believes Kuhn’s Celtic career is in a’very good place‘ and expressed compassion for the winger after the team’s 7-1 loss to Dortmund last week.

He explained: “He has the quality, the quickness, the finishing power, and all of those qualities have put him in a very excellent position as a Celtic player.

“He just needs to keep going; I believe he struggled a little bit in the European game against Dortmund because he was asked to play in virtually a winger position when he should’ve been tucked in a little bit to execute a different type of duty.

“He wouldn’t have had much space to operate in, but when he does, you can’t stop him; he can go outside or inside, which is a good winger’s skill. When they have the finishing ability, they can score a key goal, as I’ve mentioned.

“If Celtic had dropped something here, they would have had a difficult week, but they got away with it and can now prepare for the next big game, which is what it’s all about. They have so many games today that they need to rely on everyone.”
