Less than Mikey Johnston: Data estimates how much West Brom star Tom Fellows is worth

Tom Fellows, a winger, has emerged as a new star for West Brom from their youth ranks during the course of the season.

West Brom is a team known for producing young players with promise.

Sadly, a lot of them are forced to leave the Baggies at the academy level and go on to become well-known players for other teams. Tom Fellows, though, is one man who hasn’t gone down that route.

Although the 21-year-old has long been recognised as a promising potential, The Hawthorns has seen him blossom into a true star in 2024. He is one of the most intriguing young players in the Championship and has been essential to Carlos Corberan’s team’s successful start.

Fellows is under contract with West Brom until 2027, and the team appears to have quite the talent on their hands. How much is Tom Fellows worth?

Late in the summer transfer window, there was a report that West Brom had rejected a £10 million approach for Fellows. That was submitted by Southampton, and Everton was mentioned as a supporter as well.

FootballTransfers’ statistics, however, indicates that Fellows’ genuine projected value is much lower. The West Brom star’s transfer value is estimated to be €4.3 million, or roughly £3.6 million.

For context, fellow Baggies winger Mikey Johnston is valued at €4.9m (around £4.1m).

No bargain transfer

While £3.6m is the estimated transfer value of Fellows, there’s no doubt that it would cost significantly more to prise him away from West Brom in the future.

His stock has only risen since a £10 million Premier League bid was rejected in the summer, when he contributed five assists in nine Championship games. A substantial amount would be necessary to entice Fellows to leave The Hawthorns.

The England U20 international is a star in the here and now in addition to being a valuable asset for the future. If he were to leave the Championship team in the future, Corberan would have to pay a high price to replace him as a player.

Over 2024, Fellows’ estimated value has climbed dramatically, and as he establishes himself as a real potential, it is expected to grow much more.
