Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison could be playing his way into a permanent stay at Everton. One pundit believes the 27-year-old is answering all his questions about being a player the Toffees can count on.
Harrison agreed to a contract extension some months before Leeds were relegated from the Premier League in May 2023, which contained a loan departure clause. In the summer of 2023, the forward left Elland Road to join Everton and resume his top-flight career.
Because this condition was still in effect, Everton did not need to pursue a permanent deal for him last summer. However, if Leeds are promoted back to the Premier League next season, Dyche’s squad will have to acquire Harrison outright to keep him.
Harrison has made 44 appearances for Everton over the last two seasons, scoring four goals and contributing three assists. In contrast, he played 206 games for Leeds, scoring 34 goals and providing 32 assists.
This summer, Harrison stated that he is excited to return to Goodison Park for a second loan spell.
“It’s brilliant to be back,” Harrison told Everton’s official website. “Everton is a tremendous club, with a fantastic set of boys, and I’m looking forward to getting back into full pre-season training. Last year, I had a great time at the club. We had to endure a lot of difficulties, but we were able to persevere and have a successful season overall.”

Everton appears to be in another relegation battle for the 2024-25 season. As a result, each player’s performance on matchday will be scrutinized. Any errors they make could cost the Toffees points, which could come back to bite them later in the season.
In his column last Monday, Michael Ball of the Liverpool Echo highlighted what he’s appreciated about Harrison, especially how he’s responded coming off the bench, citing Everton’s victory over Crystal Palace on September 28.
“Last week I mentioned how if you’re a substitute, you’ve got to react and show your quality when you get your chance and Jack Harrison answered all my concerns when he came on,” Ball said in a column.
