Brighton defeated Tottenham 3-2 at the Amex Stadium after a spectacular comeback in which they scored three goals in the space of eighteen minutes after falling behind 2-0.

Brennan Johnson, who scored for the sixth straight game, and James Maddison’s goals put Spurs in complete control at the break.But After Yankuba Minteh took advantage of a mistake made by Destiny Udogie to score just three minutes into the second half, Ange Postecoglou’s team saw a stunning collapse.

After Georginio Rutter’s weak finish 10 minutes in, Brighton  taken away by the outcome and felt Spurs were lacking commitment.

When Danny Welbeck scored in the 66th minute due to more shoddy Spurs defence, the comeback was complete.

Spurs’ first loss in six games left the stunned visitors in ninth place, three points outside of the top four going into the October international break. The visitors could only generate one shot on goal and were unable to rally from a deficit.

Meanwhile, Brighton ends their losing streak of four games to climb up to sixth place, two points behind fourth.
