The top three Celtic performers vs Ross County as Bhoys deliver dramatic comeback win

Celtic extended their Scottish Premiership winning streak with a 2-1 victory against Ross County on Sunday.

In-form striker Ronan Hale scored a penalty provided by Liam Scales’ handball in the first half to give the Staggies the lead.

Celtic had to wait until the 76th minute to break down the home team’s strong defense.

Alistair Johnston scored the first goal, redirecting a Callum McGregor shot into the net from close range following a corner.

Celtic’s pressure paid off when Nicolas Kuhn scored in the 87th minute, securing a crucial three points.

Despite a tough week following their winners League loss to Borussia Dortmund, the squad fought back and shown why they are winners.

Who were the team’s top performers? Here are our top three selections for a dramatic afternoon, in no particular order.

Nicolas Kuhn proves his Celtic value against Ross County.

Nicolas Kuhn scored his sixth goal of the season, demonstrating once again that he is more than worthy of his spot in the Celtic team.

The German, like the rest of the squad, had some sloppy moments during the game, but his effort that ultimately sealed the victory was the only true burst of decisive brilliance in an otherwise stodgy and gritty contest.

His speed was explosive, and he maintained his cool in the box to fire a powerful effort beyond Ross Laidlaw.

He bailed out his team today. Dropping points would have been a setback, but Kuhn stepped up to accept responsibility.

Alex Valle takes an opportunity to shine.

The young Spanish left-back replaced the injured Greg Taylor in the lineup and has done nothing to hinder his chances of playing more games.

He was a steady presence on the left wing, calm in control and always seeking to drive the club forward to probe at Ross County.

Not only is he good on the ball, but he also demonstrated his battling abilities in a physical bout.

It wasn’t a flawless performance; he is still establishing himself in the team, after all. However, he stood out as one of the team’s most consistent performances throughout the course of 90 minutes.

Luke McCowan gave Celtic the spark they needed.

Credit must also be given to a replacement. Luke McCowan entered the game on the hour mark with Celtic behind 1-0 and was a significant influence in overcoming the deficit.

His ingenuity and desire injected new life into Celtic’s offensive play as County fatigued, and he didn’t back down from his duels, winning four of five.

If he hadn’t been available to give some variety to the team’s midfield play, today may have been even worse.

For my money, he’s earned a spot on the squad, and many fans will be excited to see what he can do as a member of Rodgers’ first eleven.
