Daniel Farke says Leeds could finally welcome back two key players against Sheffield United at Elland Road.
While Leeds United will have two weeks to process their heartbreaking draw against Sunderland, the additional time off might help them welcome back a few injured players to full condition.
In the upcoming days, a number of Leeds players are scheduled to go for international duty, and Daniel Farke will be praying that nobody is hurt before the team’s match against Sheffield United.
Despite having two weeks to process their heartbreaking draw against Sunderland, Leeds United may be able to welcome back several injured players to full fitness during this extra time off.s.
Several Leeds players are set to jet off to represent their respective countries in the coming days and Daniel Farke will be keeping everything crossed no one comes back injured ahead of the meeting with Sheffield United.
Farke provides Manor Solomon and Dan James injury updates
Due to the lack of comparable replacements on the bench, Farke waited until quite late to make any changes during the game last night.
Leeds made their first substitution in the 76th minute with Mateo Joseph, and in stoppage time, Isaac Schmidt and Sam Byram both entered to try to close down the opposition.
It took an astonishing 90 minutes for Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell to finish a game because they had both had a very hectic week following a stretch of matches in September with little playing time.
Despite Farke’s remarks on Wilfried Gnonto’s need to improve his fitness following his Norwich remarks, Largie Ramazani and Gnonto also participated for nearly the whole match.
However, it looks as though Leeds will at least have some options to change it out wide in their next match against Sheffield United, with Farke hopeful both Solomon and James will be back fit.
He told Leeds Live: “Solomon and James will hopefully come back. Hoping Wober will be back soon. Will last a bit.”
Solomon has decision after Israel call-up
At this point, it seems James is on schedule because it has been known for some time that he won’t return until after the October international break.
Solomon’s situation is rather different, though. He initially only missed the match against Cardiff City because of a back problem. It later turned out to be a hamstring strain.
Having been included in Israel’s latest squad, Solomon needs to decide what to do after missing last night’s game, for which he was meant to return. It is obvious that Solomon enjoys representing his nation when he plays football—he is the face of Israeli football. But for him to miss four straight Leeds games before taking out to play for Israel would be a very terrible impression.
That would put Leeds fans on his back right away, which is the last thing he wants to happen. If he did that and got hurt.
