The Leeds goalie and the Sunderland manager have a past together.
Following an awful conclusion to the match for Leeds United’s Illan Meslier, Sunderland manager Regis Le Bris has provided an explanation of what he said to the player at the final whistle.
Meslier watched Alan Browne’s bad cross bounce in front of him in the last seconds of the match at the Stadium of Light, with Leeds winning 2-1. Meslier then miraculously managed to dodge his hands and head into the net to square the score. Browne has expressed his humiliation at having won the goal, while Meslier appeared to be trying to process what had happened by wishing there was a hole in the ground to engulf him at the end of play.
