Can I still acquire a ticket to the match?

Didn’t these two teams play last season?
Yes, they did. However, a lot has changed since last year’s decision. North Melbourne has not lost a game this season, but Brisbane has lost two games, one of which was against the Kangaroos.

Are the same players participating as last year?
The Kangaroos and Lions named their squads similarly to last year. Libby Birch, Vikki Wall, and Ruby Tripodi are new additions to the Roos, replacing Lulu Pullar, Eliza Shannon, and Niamh Martin from the 2023 Grand Final team. Phoebe Monahan and Mikayla Pauga, premiership players with the Lions, have retired and transferred to Greater Western Sydney. This year’s Lions Grand Final team now includes draftee Evie Long and former West Coast star Eleanor Hartill.
What should I understand about each team?
Brisbane is the incumbent champion, having won the Grand Final last season. If the Lions win again this year, they would become the first AFLW side to win consecutive premierships. Brisbane would also become the first club to win both the women’s and men’s premierships in the same season, following the men’s AFL Grand Final victory in September. The Lions’ AFLW squad is making their sixth Grand Final appearance in nine seasons, having won two before. If the Lions win, they will match Adelaide’s record of three AFLW titles.
How exorcising their Demons resulted in the Lions’ reinvention
North Melbourne has not lost a game this season. The Roos tied with Geelong in week two, but have not lost a game all season. The Kangaroos have never won an AFLW Grand Final, despite four players – Emma Kearney, Jenna Bruton, Kim Rennie, and Libby Birch – being part of the Western Bulldogs’ 2018 Premiership squad. Birch also won a flag with Melbourne in 2022 (S7), and if the Roos win, she would become the first player in the AFLW or AFL to win three premierships with three different clubs. All of the victories would have come against the Lions. Since 2021, the loser of that year’s Grand Final has gone on to win the championship the following season. This bodes well for the Roos, who lost last year.
The six-day trade assault that might transform North’s good into greatness
Who are some players to keep a look out for?
Sophie Conway has the potential to transform the Lions’ season. One of the top wingers in the league, her tenacity and two-way running make her an important element of Brisbane’s strategy.
Keep a look out for Jas Garner among the Kangaroos. Garner, who is regarded by her colleagues as the top player in the tournament, goes unnoticed, but her ability to win and use the ball is devastating.
Who provides the pre-game entertainment?
Lime Cordiale, a two-time ARIA award-winning pop-rock trio, will perform the 2024 Telstra Pre-Game Entertainment before the match at 7pm AEDT.
Who is singing the national anthem?
Bonnie Anderson will sing the national anthem before the match at 7.41pm local time.
Who will award the Premiership Cup to the victorious team?
If Brisbane wins, retiring Lion Kate Lutkins will hand over the Premiership Cup to coach Craig Starcevich and captain Bre Koenen. If the Kangaroos win, Imogen Mulgrew, North Melbourne’s Good Friday SuperClash ambassador, will give the cup to coach Darren Crocker and captain Emma Kearney.
What about the other medals? Who is presenting them?
Former Richmond president Peggy O’Neal will deliver the Best on Ground Medal, Gabrielle Trainor will present the Coach’s Medal, and Chelsea Roffey will present the Umpires Medals.
