Lazio president urges Milan and Inter to ‘choose legality’: “Need to enact legislation”
AC Milan and Inter ultras have been a hot subject in recent days, with reports claiming that both groups of fans have been engaging in illegal actions. Claudio Lotito, Lazio’s president, has encouraged both clubs to assist the legal parties.
The Prosecutor’s Office raided the houses of certain Milan and Inter ultras, resulting in 16 arrests, and the narrative is now unraveling.
Some members of the Curva Sud and Nord have already received DASPOs, and reports of actions in San Siro may prompt more action.
The matter will continue to unfold in the following weeks. Prior to his club’s game against Nice, the president asked Milanese teams to support the inquiry and proposed law, as reported by Milan News.
“I don’t know the facts, therefore I can’t cast judgment on them. I can only adopt one clear viewpoint, as I have when I was president of Lazio. You have to pick between legality and consensus, and clubs must always choose legality.
“‘Legality’ implies removing all persons who benefit from football. There are several criminal activities in the curves that devalue sporting ideals and cause security and public order issues. I am also a supporter of it; we must pass legislation to prohibit it.”
