Hearts and Hibs are on track for additional money.

The SPFL has announced a turnover increase of £44.3 million, which will benefit Hearts and Hibs. This is the greatest total in the league’s history.

The surge in popularity has been fueled by the Sky Sports TV arrangement, as well as other local and international broadcasting deals. The turnover has grown by £2.4 million (6%) over previous year.
Payments to teams like Hearts and Hibs have increased to £33.7 million, providing a boost. This will increase the Edinburgh pair’s revenue.

Neil Doncaster, the SPFL’s group CEO, stated on the SPFL website: “We’re really proud to announce record turnover and fee payments to our member clubs today as we continue to build on the strong income growth and commercial deals in recent years.”

“Given the current adverse market and economic conditions, these positive statistics highlight Scottish football’s immense appeal, as well as the degree of interest it creates among our broadcasters and growing roster of partners.

“In recent months, we’ve signed a huge new title sponsorship agreement with William Hill, as well as a new TV arrangement with Premier Sports. The SPFL has just recorded much greater attendances per capita than any other European league in a new UEFA study, and while we will never be complacent, these figures provide us with a solid base from which to enhance our performance.”

Meanwhile, SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan stated: “These latest annual results are testament to the hard work and talent of the SPFL’s member clubs, as well as the efforts of the dedicated team at the SPFL, which works tirelessly on their behalf.”We are really thrilled to be able to present our members with the greatest yearly payouts in Scottish league football history, and we thank them for their enthusiastic support.”

Hearts return to play this weekend with an away trip to Aberdeen, looking for their first win of the season. They are at the bottom of the standings, with just two points from their first eight games.

The Jambos are also looking for a new manager after electing to fire Steven Naismith. Liam Fox is now in charge until a replacement is selected, and the hierarchy is carefully considering their choices to identify the best candidate.

Hibs will play Motherwell at home on Saturday afternoon. They are currently in ninth place with five points from a victory and two draws.

In their most recent match, David Gray’s team fell 1-0 away at Rangers. They were unable to find an equalizer at Ibrox and returned to Edinburgh with nothing as they seek to resume winning ways.
