Norwich City are on the verge of signing midfielder Emiliano Marcondes and have now completed all of the necessary paperwork with the free agent.

According to Tipsbladet, the 29-year-old is set to join Norwich after leaving Bournemouth this summer.

They add that, after reports on Thursday that Norwich were close to signing Marcondes, a deal is now ‘fully in place’.

Marcondes is expected to sign a one-year contract with the Canaries on Friday, with the option to extend it for another year.

He has been without a club since the end of June, when his contract with Bournemouth expired, and Norwich originally hesitated to make a move until a ‘severe situation’ arose in their offensive areas.

With Ashley Barnes and Onel Hernandez out injured, the team has moved for Marcondes.

He has a history with Norwich manager Johannes Hoff Thorup, having previously worked together at FC Nordsjaelland, and Thorup has revealed the two were in frequent communication.

As Norwich attempt to cover for recent injuries, an agreement has been reached, and a contract is due to be signed later today.
