Ipswich Town: Sam Morsy one booking away from suspension

Ipswich Town: Sam Morsy is one booking away from suspension.

Before tomorrow’s match at West Ham, Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna has supported captain Sam Morsy to tread carefully when it comes to discipline.

With six Premier League games played so far this season, the feisty Blues midfielder has already received four bookings. He will be suspended for one game for the next one, and the yellow card amnesty won’t come around until game week 19.

In the second half of last weekend’s 2-2 home draw against Aston Villa, the 33-year-old was lucky not to be given a second yellow card. McKenna commented, “Samy’s an experienced player and he plays with a really competitive edge, he always has done and it’s one of his strongest bits of his game.”

“I think Samy knows how to manage himself well and he’s an important player for us and will be important, hopefully, this weekend.”

Attacking duo Liam Delap and Omari Hutchinson both have two bookings each, with eight other Town players on one.
