JUST IN: Rangers to announce imminent new contract for “superb” ace after Sterling

The Rangers are now allegedly expecting to announce another new contract within Philippe Clement’s team, following the announcement that Dujon Sterling had signed a new Ibrox term. The Rangers, who just discovered their best play, announced Sterling’s extension as part of their celebration of the positive news. The right-back has legally signed a contract extension that will keep him at Ibrox for at least four more years, until 2028. The 24-year-old, who can play both right-back and midfield, is starting to fight for a starting berth under Clement, so it’s a well-earned deal as well.

After completing the agreement, Sterling told the Rangers’ official website, “I am obviously proud, and it is good to get it over the line.” I was rewarded by the club because they felt that I performed well the previous season, and this season, all I have to do is improve on that. “It makes me want to work more since I’ve been rewarded and I want to return the favor. With a wonderful management, teammates, staff, and supporters, it’s a great place to work every day. To me, it seems like home, so there was no reason to alter that.

The winger has to return to the starting lineup, according to Light Blues head coach. Still, it appears the Gers are not done yet. The Daily Record claims that after verifying Sterling’s extension, the Rangers will soon reveal a new contract for John Souttar. Although his current contract is set to expire in 2026, the 28-year-old center back appears likely to sign a longer one, possibly to coincide with the recent signing of another defender to a new deal.

“Superb” Souttar is now a mainstay with the Rangers.

Souttar has emerged as a crucial component of Clement’s Ibrox engine, which is starting to fire on all cylinders once more, having started all 11 Rangers games this season. With four clean sheets in four games in all competitions since their 3-0 thumping at the hands of Old Firm rivals Celtic, it’s evident that the connection between Robin Propper and Souttar has put to Gers up to build back towards the title battle in the Scottish Premiership.

John-Souttar

Earning deserved praise as a result of his performances, Souttar was dubbed “superb” by podcaster John Walker for his performance as Rangers opened their Europa League campaign with a 2-0 victory against Malmo earlier this season. Now reportedly set to sign an extension, the central defender’s full focus will be on taking the Gers back to the top of Scottish football.
