bookmakers’ favourite for the Cardiff City position Following his sudden termination by Stoke City, Steven Schumacher says he is ready “whenever the right opportunity comes up”.

The Potters signed Schumacher just five games into the Championship season, after he had established himself with Plymouth Argyle.

He said that his dream job would be to manage Everton in the Premier League.

“I have still learned a lot in nine months. “I’ve had to deal with a lot of stuff with that club that I wouldn’t have had to deal with in another four years at Argyle,” he explained. “I just wouldn’t have had those problems, so in my personal career, I’ll be more prepared for the following position.

“I didn’t come out of that thinking I needed a break. I feel as if it has given me a little more fuel, a little more fire in my gut. I want to be a Premier League manager, and my ideal job is at Everton.

“So this will give me more fuel to say’Right now, I have some people to prove wrong, and this is my first setback in my coaching career. I believe you might say a lot about my character by how I recover. But I’m ready whenever the appropriate chance arises.
