Reading manager Ruben Selles praised Andre Garcia, 16, after the defender made his first league start for the club.

The youngster, who replaced Kelvin Abrefa at full-back in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Burton Albion, has previously started in cup tournaments but only appeared briefly in four League One games.

The child garnered praise from the crowd as well as wonderful evaluations from his manager.

“Andre has been training really hard since March,” Selles said. “I see Andre as a full-fledged first-team player who is developing and growing.” We had no reservations about putting him on the pitch today, just as we have previously. I believe he did a good job.

Chem Campbell, another young star who shined against the Brewers, opened the scoring for the team with a first-half brace.

The winger, who is only 21 years old and one of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ youngest players, has signed on loan until January.

“Chem is a great player, but it is easier to come into an environment where everyone knows what to do and how to do it- the relations were already created,” Selles told me. “We thought that with his abilities, he might be a valuable addition to the team. It’s encouraging that he’s scoring two goals and playing well today. We are delighted for him and everyone engaged in the triumph.
