Fan Letters: “Chris Rigg to Birmingham City? Do me a favour”

After the Watford match, I didn’t write in since I was still in shock over Neil’s massive brain fart. I believed we had the momentum to have upset a late winner on Sunday, so I felt bad about throwing away a point—or maybe three!

Anyway, Wilson Isidor’s contribution to the Lads’ three-point victory and Jobe’s outstanding Carlos Edwards mimic are the reasons I’m over it now.

For us, a slow but thorough start is typical.

With the exception of one scramble in the box during the second half and when their #28 wriggled through to force Anthony Patterson into a brilliant stop shortly after Jobe put us ahead, Derby’s front line was effectively restrained for the most portion of the match.

Since they were paired, Chris Mepham and Luke O’Nien have really clicked, and it’s comforting to know that our group is made up of more than simply two good center backs. Trai Hume played a great ninety minutes, guiding guys to where he wanted them to go rather than flying into tackles!

Our captain showed much more maturity when the midfield finally got rolling, but let me be clear: he isn’t a CDM.

He looked so much better in the last third with the ball in his hands. He coordinates plays, makes neat reverse passes, and sprints off the ball.

On defense, Alan Browne and Dan Neil are very different from one another, as demonstrated when Browne entered the game and shut it down. He might replace Chris Rigg against Leeds, in my opinion, since the young player looked a little lanky despite still giving it his all as always.

But that Wilson guy. Eliezer Mayenda is good, but Isidor merely has better value.

When he receives the ball, his hold-up play and ability to dribble away from his marker with it at his feet are excellent. We have been aching for a darting run to the near post to score, and to be honest, I thought Nazariy Rusyn would be our guy last season.

Isidor and either Rusyn or Mayenda up top in a 4-4-2 configuration?

Moving on to LeedsAWAY WITH THE MEN!

Ed’s Note [Phil]: In reaction to Watford’s setback, I felt that Tuesday’s performance by the Lads was commendable. We displayed great patience against Derby, especially in the early going when things weren’t quite clicking.

Jobe, in my opinion, had a fantastic game and scored a goal of the highest caliber. At the center of our defense, Luke O’Nien and Chris Mepham are also beginning to form a solid relationship.

Even though Dan Neil still seems more at ease in a leading part, I thought he was solid in other roles. In my opinion, I might start Alan Browne against Leeds because I think the midfield struggle will be crucial to our ability to win at home on Friday.

At last, Wilson Isidor appears to be a very valuable acquisition.

Isidor, Eliezer Mayenda, and Aaron Connolly are three potentially strong strikers that we now have, which is comforting. His pace and movement stood out against Derby. Without a question, they’ll all have important roles to play this season.

Dear Roker Report,

Alan ‘Drivel’ Nixon

Words fail me when responding to the absolute drivel this man churns out- drivel that’s described as ‘journalism’, with the latest nonsense being Chris Rigg going to Birmingham for £10 million.

Who pays him for writing this rubbish? Mr Nixon would be better off employed as Donald Trump’s fact checker, or alternatively the village idiot.

If Nixon said the Pope was a Catholic, I would check with the Vatican before I believed him.
