
UPDATE | West Mercia Police Provide Update Following Reports of an Incident Involving a Firearm in Ledbury on Saturday
West Mercia Police have provided *Your Herefordshire* with a further update regarding reports of an incident involving a firearm in Ledbury on Saturday.
Inspector James Ashton said:
“I know there has been a lot of concern locally around an incident at Ledbury RFC on Saturday where a person was seen with a firearm.
“Following a swift police response, officers attended the scene, and after a thorough investigation, we can confirm that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
> “A suspect was detained, and a firearm has been recovered. We would like to reassure the community that there is no further risk, and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.
“We understand that incidents of this nature can cause alarm, and we appreciate the cooperation of the public as we carried out our inquiries. If anyone has any further information or concerns, we encourage them to come forward and speak to us.”
West Mercia Police continue to urge anyone with additional details about the incident to contact them via 101 or through their website. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
