Major Middlesbrough kit update revealed ahead of the next season and anniversary year
Middlesbrough will have a new kit supplier for next season as their Errea agreement comes to an end after three years.
Boro have a long-held affiliation with the Italian sportswear brand, with Errea supplying the club’s uniforms throughout their halcyon phase between 1994 and 2009.
The two reunited in 2022, with Errea producing Boro’s kits for the last three seasons.
But Boro have decided not to pursue an extended agreement with Errea and have instead agreed terms with a new supplier, with details of that to be announced in due course. In the meantime, residual stock of Errea products in the club store have gone on sale.
It’s not yet known who Boro’s new kit supplier will be, but whoever it is will supervise a crucial period in the club’s history.
Expected to be a multi-year contract, as well as next season’s kits, the new kit manufacturer will produce the crucial kits for the club’s 150-year anniversary season.
That will also be the first set of uniforms to feature the club’s new insignia, which is presently in the process of being created to coincide with the anniversary celebrations.
A statement on the Boro website confirmed: “The club can confirm that it will part company with Technical Kit Provider Errea at the end of this season. Our three-year agreement with Errea will conclude at the end of 2024/25.
We’d like to place on record our gratitude to Errea for their efforts during our partnership, and we wish them the very best for the future.”
While Errea provided the club with bespoke designs as opposed to the generic templates used during the Adidas era, there have been continuous supply issues with stock routinely low or late being delivered.
Boro supporters will be hopeful the change can bring about improvements.
