The Spaniard is playing Champions League football in the Netherlands and is having a successful season.
However, there might be some doubt about his long-term prospects after he returns to Molineux.
Wolves warned Hugo Bueno could seek permanent transfer
Bueno has started 11 Eredivisie games and five Champions League games since the season began.
The 22-year-old has performed admirably overall. During Feyenoord’s 1-1 Champions League match with AC Milan last month, Bueno gave a remarkable display.
Nathan Judah of the Express & Star believes Bueno’s comeback in Europe’s top league may give him the right to make some demanding demands come summertime.
On the E&S Wolves podcast, he stated, “I’m fairly certain Hugo Bueno will want to be guaranteed a starting position going into the Premier League, and perhaps not someone who’s not going to be in and out of the side.”
Considering the defender’s successful step up, this forecast is reasonable.
A lot will depend on Rayan Ait-Nouri
Wolves’ preferred left-sided wing-back, Rayan Ait-Nouri, made Bueno’s loan move possible.
Bueno hasn’t had much opportunity to advance. However, later in the year, the Spaniard might be pushed open to enter Vitor Pereira’s plans.
Ait-Nouri is another Wolves player that has been connected to leaving the Midlands at the end of the current campaign, in addition to Matheus Cunha.
Although Air-Nouri has been linked to Chelsea and Liverpool, no deal has been agreed with any of the clubs, therefore his future at Molineux is still uncertain.
Bueno will have a far better chance of becoming a regular if Ait-Nouri decides to move on. But after experiencing Champions League football this season, it seems sense that he won’t want to be benched again the following year.
