Leicester City are ready to enter a new chapter under Ruud van Nistelrooy’s leadership.

Leicester are on the verge of hiring van Nistelrooy, only days after Steve Cooper was sacked.

The former Manchester United interim has been approached by owner Khun Top, who has received guarantees that he will want to develop an appealing type of play.

Khun Top feels van Nistelrooy will establish a solid relationship with the dressing room, which Cooper struggled to do.

Van Nistelrooy will most likely watch the game against Brentford from the stands, rather than on the field.

That will allow him time to evaluate the squad and see where he might need to strengthen in the January transfer window.

With that said, it’s clear who Van Nistelrooy’s first signing should be.

Leicester should make Evan Ferguson. Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first signing

Leicester really need depth up top, since only Jamie Vardy is capable of scoring goals.

Patson Daka, who has recently returned from injury, and Odsonne Edouard are simply not up to the requisite standards.

So, after 12 games, it’s clear that Leicester need to buy another striker to back up Vardy.

According to the Telegraph, Brighton is willing to send Evan Ferguson out on loan in January, making him a viable target.

The bright young centre-forward is behind Danny Welbeck in the pecking order at the Amex and is eager for regular starting opportunities.

So, City must position themselves to sign him this winter, as he would be an excellent fit for van Nistelrooy.

Leicester must cancel one loan in order to sign Ferguson.

To accordance with Premier League standards, Leicester must cancel one of their loan deals before signing Ferguson.

Edouard is the obvious loan to end, with fellow loanee Facundo Buonanotte ripping it up this season.

Eduoard has just played 142 minutes of league football for City this season and has yet to score.

The deadline-day acquisition has struggled to make an impact from the bench, so perhaps it’s time to send him back to his original club Crystal Palace, freeing up space for Ferguson.
