Chris Hill, an England Test forward, has signed a contract with Salford Red Devils. According to Rugby League Live, the 36-year-old has signed a contract with the Super League team, and he will join the Reds in 2025.

After leaving the Huddersfield Giants, Hill is a free agent, however he has stated that he wants to play next season. He’s been added to England’s extended roster for the upcoming autumn Test series against Samoa.

With over 400 career games, including over 300 in Super League, the 36-year-old is among the most seasoned players in the game. Hill, who had played 41 international caps, had a great career, leading Warrington Wolves to two Challenge Cup victories.

As Joe Bullock’s loan period draws to a close and Adam Sidlow and Gil Dudson also depart, Salford will be lacking alternatives in the pack going into 2025. Even though he is a loose forward, Oli Partington is joining the Catalans Dragons.

Salford does have King Vuniyayawa coming back from a loan at Hull FC, but with Esan Marsters joining from Huddersfield Giants, they now have too many quota players signed for the upcoming season. One of their present abroad players will have to go as a result.

Hill’s attraction is clear because there aren’t many options available for him overseas, and the transfer market is devoid of prop options as the off-season approaches.

After leaving Huddersfield, Hill stated he planned to continue playing in 2025. In his Instagram post, Hill wrote: “It’s the end of another chapter. Thank you to everyone at the @giantsrl_official.
