BBC NEWS; Norwich City Star Like ‘Young Puppy’ Says Ex-Canary In Strange Comparison.

Former Norwich City player Dean Ashton has said that Canaries star Ante Crnac reminds him of a small dog.

Following Adam Idah’s departure for Celtic in the most recent transfer window, Canaries sports director Ben Knapper spent heavily on Croatian forward Crnac.

Johannes Hoff Thorup has handed the 20-year-old forward five league starts, but he is yet to score or assist.

Ashton says that Crnac’s touches and ball skills lead him to believe that he has a very high potential, as seen by his ability to find Josh Sargent for the penalty in the 1-1 draw against Leeds United.

However, the former Canary says that the Croatian reminds him of a little dog who performs charming things one moment and then smacks his head on the door the next.

“He reminds me of a young puppy in that he will do something so lovely and just superb,” Ashton remarked on BBC Radio Norfolk of the Canaries’ summer purchase.

“And then just spin around and smack their head on the door.

“Some of Crnac’s touches made me think, ‘Yes, that is a player, and that will be a player.'”

“The bit for the goal is fantastic.

“And if he can keep working on those things, but then he loses the ball or is in the incorrect place.

“There is a player there, though.

“There is absolutely a player with a couple of other bits.”

Thorup has put his trust in Crnac, and the Croatian attacker will be eager to score his first goal in Norwich colors as soon as possible.
