Sunderland-born Jill Scott brutally mocks Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon alongside Masie Adams

Jill Scott, who was born in Sunderland, recently used the occasion to make fun of Anthony Gordon, a player for Newcastle United.

Gordon, an England international, played for her hometown club along with Manchester City, Everton, and Aston Villa. She was on the

opposite team to Wearsider Scott, who won the Euros with the Lionesses before retiring, when she participated on the Sky game show

League Of Their Own last month.

Given that Wearsiders and Tynesiders are still fierce rivals in football, host Romesh Ranganathan questioned Scott about her feelings

about having to appear with Newcastle United winger Gordon during the event. However, Scott quickly made fun of the former

Everton attacker, comparing his appearance to that of fellow visitor Masie Adams.

Romesh Ranganathan: “What are your thoughts on a Newcastle player appearing on the show?”

“Well, he’s on the losing team, so…” said Jill Scott.

Micah Richards: “Can you elaborate? The well-known Sunderland supporter? She is the sole well-known Sunderland supporter.

Jill Scott: “But, I think I have his likeness here, so…”

Masie Adam: “Yes, I am aware of that. Yes, I do.

“Wow!” said Jamie Redknapp. Whoa!

Anthony Gordon: “Not at all!”

Romesh Ranganathan: “Are you aware of something? Antonia Gordon is on the opposite side, Anthony.

Masie Adams: “But, Anthony, I can see it. You and I, in my opinion, resemble someone who attempted to sketch Ellen DeGeneres from memory.

Anthony Gordon’s red card during Newcastle United’s FA Cup match against Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League dealt the

team a serious blow in the weeks after the match, ahead of the Carabao Cup final next month.

Play was stopped by Gary Beswick’s offside flag after a hopeful pass was made through the Brighton backline with extra time imminent

and the two teams tied at one. Gordon, however, persisted in pursuing the ball before shoving Jan Paul van Hecke, a defender for

Brighton, in the back of the head.

Gordon’s decision to award referee Anthony Taylor a red card after the play was stopped was unnecessary, much to the disapproval

and confusion of the large crowd gathered in St. James’ Park. The Magpies had to play with ten men for the remainder of the ninety

minutes after Gordon was handed his marching orders.

Gordon received a straight red card for violent behavior, which is punishable by a three-match suspension. Gordon will now miss

Newcastle United’s match against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final after the team chose not to appeal the ruling.

Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle United, stated following the incident: “It would be a huge setback to us if Anthony were to miss

the game. However, as is always said, when someone else experiences adversity in that manner, it’s an opportunity for someone else,

and I believe that’s why we have a team and excellent players.

Therefore, I believe that’s the way we need to look at it, and I’m sure Anthony would agree. He would want us to continue, be

extremely resilient, and attempt to win the game while he is away.
