Auston Trusty and Alex Valle share delight on Instagram after helping Celtic thrash St Johnstone

Celtic were in inspirational form last Saturday, defeating St Johnstone 6-0 at McDiarmid Park.

Despite the visitors’ dominance, Kyogo Furuhashi’s double, combined with goals from Paulo Bernardo, Callum McGregor, Daizen Maeda, and Adam Idah, led to a convincing victory.

Notably, several of Celtic’s summer additions played from the bench.Auston Trusty began on the right side of defence and kept the Bhoys’ clean sheet, while Alex Valle’s viral assist made headlines around the world.

Overall, Brendan Rodgers’ reigning champions chose an excellent approach to prepare for their Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund tomorrow.

Before the match at Signal Iduna Park, Trusty and Valle discuss Celtic’s victory over St Johnstone.

Auston Trusty’s reaction to dominant Celtic victory

Trusty, a United States international, took to Instagram to praise the Celtic fans for their ‘fantastic’ support in Perth, as well as to express his satisfaction in keeping a clean sheet.

He stated, “Three points and a clean sheet.” The travelling supporters were great. “See you all in Germany on Tuesday.”

It is unclear whether Trusty will start in Dortmund tomorrow. Nonetheless, he was a controlled presence in a new right-side role and did not appear out of place at McDiarmid Park.

Valle responded to the compliments with two fire emojis, showing that he was as impressed by his colleagues’ performance as the travelling support who made the journey.

Similarly, Barcelona loanee Valle thanked fans for their support while also providing a preview of what to expect from Celtic in Germany.

Valle posted on the social media platform, “More to go on Tuesday, thanks for your amazing support.”

Undoubtedly, his backheel assist was the most memorable aspect of his play. However, the 20-year-old’s second-half performances were positive overall as he filled in for Greg Taylor.

Valle gives the idea that there’s more to come. With minutes under his belt, his potential to play a role in the team is easy to observe.

Celtic supporters should expect exciting times ahead. Following another crystallisation of that past weekend, excitement is at an all-time high ahead of their home game against Borussia Dortmund. Hail Hail!
