Neil Redfearn has stressed that Jayden Bogle is still getting used to playing for Leeds United and a new position since his arrival from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window.

Bogle joined Leeds from Sheffield United in the summer and has been the first-choice right-back for the Whites since his arrival despite some criticisms.

The full-back was criticised for his role in Leeds’ defeat to Burnley a few weeks back and there are still question marks about his overall defensive ability.

However, Bogle is gradually settling in at Elland Road and scored his first goal for the club in their 3-0 win over Coventry City at Elland Road over the weekend.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder recently lamented missing out on the former Blades’ attacking ability from the wing-back position and he is very much Daniel Farke’s go-to man at right-back.

Bogle is still adapting to Leeds United and the right position, insists former Whites manager

Redfearn pointed out that Bogle is still very much a new player at Leeds despite being part of all the starting elevens in the Championship since his arrival in the summer.

He stressed that Bogle is still adapting to a new club and new teammates and more importantly he is still getting used to playing as a right-back.

The 24-year-old was primarily used as a wing-back at Sheffield United and the ex-Whites boss insisted that it will take some time for him to get used to the more defensive right-back position at Leeds.

“You have got to remember as well that he is new to it”, Redfearn said on BBC Radio Leeds.

“He has come from a different club, he is playing with different teammates and a different style of play.

“He played a lot in a back three as a right wing-back when he was at Sheffield United but he is being asked to play as a full-back now.

“His whole way of looking at things has changed and he has got to get used to that.”
