Man arrested after motorcyclist killed in crash

A guy in his forties has been arrested after a motorcyclist was killed in an accident on an A-road.

Shortly after 05:40 GMT, Bedfordshire Police were alerted to an accident in Dunstable involving a car and a motorcycle.

The A5183 Watling Street reopened after being closed for several hours.

Emergency personnel responded, but the rider, a man in his twenties, was pronounced dead on the site.

The victim’s family has been notified, and police have called for witnesses.

Sgt Ben Heath of the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit stated, “We are thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, which resulted in the tragic loss of a life.”

“We have expert policemen who will assist the relatives of the deceased.

“We would appeal for anyone who was driving on this road in the early hours and either witnessed the incident or may have dashcam footage to come forward and assist with our inquiries.”
