Manager adored by Marinakis delivers scathing attack on Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest were beaten 1-0 by Fulham as the unbeaten record came crashing to a halt at the City Ground.

The Reds were unable to break into the top six despite claiming three points, and the officials were once again the main discussion point.
Murillo gave away a penalty, and Raul Jimenez stepped up to score his 50th Premier League goal and lead Fulham to victory.

Brian Laws felt the ruling against Forest was too harsh, and Richard Keys sympathized with Forest as well.

Forest have yet to win since their victory over Liverpool, although the Reds have had a good start to the season.

Marco Silva takes swipe at Forest after win for Fulham

Following Steve Cooper’s dismissal in December, there was speculation that Fulham manager Marco Silva might be an ideal candidate for Evangelos Marinakis.

The Portuguese manager has already won a league title with Olympiacos and has a close relationship with Marinakis.

However, his words during yesterday’s game appeared to be a slight jab at Forest, as he felt his Fulham team was comfortable.

In his post-match press conference, he stated, “I don’t remember a big chance for them (Forest).” Awoniyi scored only one in the first half. Nothing unusual from Bernd Leno either, which demonstrates how we maintained our organisation.”

Silva comments harsh but Forest were poor

Forest have a bad record against Fulham, and their recent victories have been few and far between.

The lone notable chance came late in the game when Jota Silva challenged Leno from distance, but the goalie made a straightforward save.

Chris Wood scored in the first half, but the offside flag had already been raised, much to Forest’s dismay.

Silva recalls Awoniyi’s effort, which was more speculative, although replays reveal that it was closer than it appeared at the time in the stadium.

However, Silva’s comments may be a touch harsh given that his team needed a relatively minor penalty to win the game.

To be quite honest, neither Leno nor Matz Sels had a save to make.

Forest must take this defeat in stride and regroup for next week’s match against Chelsea.
