Gary Neville worries about Wolves following their most recent loss to Liverpool.
Wolves had a peculiar game against Liverpool. They occasionally made good use of the ball, but Wolves also had frustrating moments when they failed to go for the kill. Once more, the back was feeble, which was perhaps to be expected in the absence of Craig Dawson, who was unwell and missed the match. After the game, Gary Neville expressed his thoughts about Wolves, and many will agree with his assessment. They could have (and should have) shown more ambition, he declared on Sky. They are playing a formidable team; both Liverpool and Arne Slot have had fantastic starts to the season.
The Wolves are really in danger.
Given Wolves’ dismal performance against Liverpool and O’Neil’s loss of Dawson due to illness, nobody really anticipated Wolves to win. However, many felt that Wolves’ performance against the Reds was a wasted chance to score points.
For significant stretches of the game, Wolves controlled the game while Liverpool was far from at its best. Wolves are in serious difficulty since they lost a game when they had a chance to take a point once again. There appears to be a psychological issue at the moment, and if it is not resolved quickly, relegation will most likely occur.
