Price Tag For Black Cats Star May Be Lower In Sunderland

Journalist Alan Nixon claims that Sunderland “may take less” for one of its talents when Premier League teams circle during the summer transfer window.

Despite losing star player Jack Clarke to Ipswich Town in the summer, Regis Le Bris has Sunderland competing near the top of the Championship table.

However, Sunderland suffered a defeat at Watford on Saturday; should they fail to advance, goalkeeper Anthony Patterson may be put to the test.

In anticipation of a potential raid, Manchester United is scouting Patterson, and Crystal Palace and Liverpool are also fans.

Patterson is thought to be worth £20 million to Sunderland, but it’s possible they’ll accept less for the goalie.

There has been constant speculation that Patterson would be promoted to the Premier League, so it’s not obvious how long Sunderland could keep him around if they don’t make the playoffs.

Thus far this season, the goalie for Sunderland has preserved four clean sheets in the Championship.

The fact that Patterson is committed to the Black Cats through the summer of 2028 does help them solidify their position.
