£30m ex-Newcastle United man filmed mocking Sunderland fans after 2-1 loss to Watford at Vicarage Road

The former Newcastle United player was captured on camera making gestures to Sunderland supporters following the Watford match.
Following Saturday’s Championship loss to Watford, Moussa Sissoko, a former favorite of Newcastle United, was caught on camera inciting the Sunderland supporters.

The 35-year-old French international midfielder was named Man of the Match for his performance that day. He began the game for Tom Cleverley’s team in the middle of the park. Wilson Isidor’s goal was negated by goals from Festy Ebosele and Tom Dele-Bashiru, giving the Hornets a 2-1 victory.

Given his Tyneside ties, Hide Ad Sissoko, who made 133 appearances for Newcastle United before departing to join Tottenham for £30 million after the Magpies’ relegation in 2016, was loudly jeered by Sunderland supporters during the match at Vicarage Road. But after Watford had won at Vicarage Road, Sissoko was caught on camera inciting the 2,000-strong Sunderland away end. The midfield player was a member of the team that was demoted from the Premier League in 2021, when he first joined the team.
