BBC NEWS; Norwich City manager makes Derby County accusation in a cry for help.

DerbyshireLive gives you the latest Derby County news, including what Norwich City’s manager had to say following their victory over the Rams.

Johannes Hoff Thorup felt Derby County's second goal was offside.

Norwich City manager Johannes Hoff Thorup hailed a “big win” over Derby County, but felt Corey Blackett-Taylor’s strike should have been thrown out for offside.

Borja Sainz’s hat-trick broke Derby’s perfect home record in the Championship, securing a 3-2 victory in a thrilling match.

The game was controversial since Sainz’s first and third goals should have been thrown out due to the ball being out of play during the build-up. Thorup, on the other hand, had his own complaint about Blackett-Taylor’s stoppage-time goal, which he felt should not have stood.

“It’s a major win, and we’re the first team to do it this season. He indicated he wanted to score three goals rather than simply one. “We understood that in strong situations, we could control it and dominate, and we could also generate a somewhat slower game image that favored us.

“We knew there would be moments where we had to fight and withstand the pressure, and do everything we could for the result and and I think the guys did that so importantly for us.”

When asked about Norwich’s contentious opening goal, Thorup replied: “I certainly can’t see it from my position, whether it’s in or out. I think it’s so easy for me, and other coaches, to sit here and criticize the officials every Saturday.

“We simply have to make sure that we assist them in the greatest manner possible, whether that means installing a camera system on the outside to help them even more, or another concept. That’s the way to go to encourage these players, because there will be these moments in the game when things become hot and there are so many different circumstances.

“Derby’s second goal is also clearly offside, which we don’t need to discuss because it will happen if there isn’t better support around the referee.” As a result, it will be a topic of conversation throughout the season and into future seasons.

“So most important for me is just to mention we have to support them, and give them all the support they need to perform on the best level.”
