Distraught family of missing UWE student issue emotional appeal

The family of a missing University of the West of England (UWE) student have issued an emotional public appeal. Sebastian Sailes, 21, was last seen at Lovers Walk after leaving the Black Horse Pub, in Chippenham, at around 11.30pm on Thursday, February 27.

Wiltshire Police believe he then headed south on Avon Valley Walk towards his home in Notton. However, Seb did not make it home and there are now major concerns for his welfare.

He is described as a white male, described as about 5ft 10in with brown hair in a fringe and has a slim build. Seb was last seen wearing a grey jumper, blue jeans and a beige fur lined jacket.

His family said they are “extremely anxious” and are urging anyone with any relevant information on his whereabouts to come forward. They also thanked those involved in the search for Seb so far.

They said: “We are a very close family and are all extremely anxious and praying for the safe return of our much-loved son Sebastian. We are unbelievably grateful for the efforts of the police and all the amazing volunteers.

“The public support has been heart-warming, and we appeal to anyone who may have information to contact Wiltshire Police immediately, in the hope that our beautiful boy is returned to us safe and sound.”

“If you live in that area and you have any Ring Doorbell footage from around the time he disappeared to check it for any sign of him. Delivery drivers or taxi drivers would also have been out in Chippenham at around that time and we would please ask that you check your Dash Cams for any sign of him.

“I would also like to thank the volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue and other search agencies from the south who have come to the area for the time and energy they have put into the search for missing Seb.”

Wiltshire Police added: “If you can help, please get in touch on 101 quoting reference 54250025466.”
