Danny Rohl says something unexpected about Sheffield Wednesday supporters being “quiet.”

Danny Rohl doesn’t think that on Saturday afternoon, the Sheffield Wednesday supporters were raucous.

Sheffield Wednesday hosted West Brom on Saturday at Hillsborough; the Baggies lead the Championship heading into this weekend.

With a 3-2 victory over West Brom, the Owls, who had been in 21st position in the Championship standings heading into the weekend, have climbed out of the relegation zone.

Among the day’s best goals, Josh Windass’ spectacular header was aided by strong individual efforts all over the field.

Following the game, Rob Staton praised Shea Charles. Barry Bannan, who had a slow start to the season, performed admirably elsewhere.

It’s also only the team’s second victory of the season and Danny Rohl’s first in five league games.

Although their two victories this season have been well-earned and entertaining, Sheffield Wednesday supporters have generally found the season to be unsatisfactory.

Against West Brom, Sheffield Wednesday supporters shocked Danny Rohl.

But late in the game, Hillsborough exploded as Antony Musaba scored his first goal of the year and Wednesday’s third goal of the day, stealing a late 3-2 victory.

“I must say, after the 3-2, it was the first time in the stadium that I felt the energy from the stands,” Rohl stated in an interview with Staton following the game.

Even though we had a 2-0 lead today, it was incredibly quiet. I believe that my team repeatedly deserved the support.

Sheffield Wednesday’s quiet can be explained

It was unsettling for Sheffield Wednesday, a team that has had a terrible start to the season and little luck, to be ahead 2-0 against the league leaders.

There may have been a relatively muted atmosphere at 2-0 up since many fans may have assumed that West Brom would ultimately get back into the game.

Naturally, West Brom managed to re-enter the match. But, knowing that Musaba’s goal would probably be the winning one, the supporters raised their voices as he scored the winner.
