Daniel Farke makes significant Pascal Struijk decision as Leeds United team news vs Coventry City confirmed

Daniel Farke makes significant Pascal Struijk decision as Leeds United team news vs Coventry City confirmed.

Despite labelling Junior Firpo, Pascal Struijk, and Patrick Bamford as doubtful in midweek, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke was nevertheless able to include them in his matchday squad for this afternoon’s match against Coventry City.

Leeds hosts Mark Robins’ Sky Blues this evening at Elland Road in an attempt to record their fourth victory in seven Championship games this year.

Max Wober, Manor Solomon, and Daniel James are out for United due to injury, while three probable absences—Struijk, Bamford, and Firpo—have been cleared to play today.

Following an injury sustained during training earlier this week, Bamford missed one or two sessions. In contrast, Firpo, who played last weekend while wearing straps on his left knee, was able to participate in Leeds’ final two sessions on Thursday and Friday in spite of some previously disclosed medial collateral ligament (MCL) discomfort.

It will be a relief for Leeds, especially in terms of their build-up play out of defence and the team’s aerial power, that Struijk, who Farke labelled the biggest question mark during his Thursday press conference, is cleared to start.

The availability of his vice-captain allows the manager to pick an unaltered starting lineup. Joe Gelhardt replaces the youthful midfielder on the matchday roster as a reserve.

Leeds XI: Meslier, Bogle, Rodon, Struijk, Firpo, Ampadu (c), Gruev, Gnonto, Aaronson, Ramazani, Joseph

Subs: Darlow, Schmidt, Byram, Debayo, Rothwell, Tanaka, Piroe, Bamford, Gelhardt.
