Julen Lopetegui faces ‘biggest challenge’ at West Ham United ahead of clash v Brentford

Julen Lopetegui faces ‘biggest challenge’ at West Ham United ahead of clash v Brentford.

Tony Cascarino claims that Julen Lopetegui’s “biggest challenge” for West Ham United’s match against Brentford is setting up his

squad and formation correctly.

On Saturday, September 28, the Hammers travel across London to the GTech Community Stadium in an attempt to snap a four-game

losing streak in all competitions this season.

TalkSPORT commentator Cascarino feels the Irons’ main issue has been starting the wrong team in games, despite criticism from

several supporters and experts regarding the manager of the Hammers during games.

He stated, “I think the biggest challenge for West Ham and Lopetegui is, he has to get his formation and team right,” in a speech on

talkSPORT on Saturday, September 28, at 6:28.

“You can’t be an easy opponent to play against in football, no matter what you do. If one team is well-organised while the other isn’t, I know which team I’m betting on. My money is on the well-organised squad.

“He needs to correct that. The supporters of West Ham have entered a new era, have made large financial investments, and, no doubt, went into the season with high expectations for their team’s performance.

For them, it’s been a difficult beginning.

Will West Ham sack Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium?

Lopetegui must prevail. That is all there is to it going into the game on Saturday afternoon.

The only thing that will relieve the burden on the Hammers manager is a three-point victory at Brentford.

Thomas Frank’s team is well-organised and challenging to break down at home, so it won’t be easy for the Hammers, but the manager of West Ham has enough talent in his squad to select a team that can win all three points.

Instead of being unduly preoccupied with maintaining tight defence, the former Real Madrid manager needs to have the guts to put his team on the attack in order to maximise the attacking quality at his disposal.

The Irons’ losing streak should eventually come to an end.

If West Ham lose again, the pressure is only going to grow on the Spaniard and calls for his head will increase.
